Massage is tailored to the individual and no one treatment is the same. Whether you are looking for a deep tissue massage, soft tissue release or trigger point therapy; I can prescribe the best massage type for you. I am also qualified in delivering structural & remedial massage, scar massage and holistic massage.
Deep Tissue Massage:
Deep tissue is a massage technique that is mainly used to treat musculoskeletal issues, such as strains and sports injuries. It involves using deep strokes to target the inner layers of your muscles and connective tissues. This helps break up scar tissue that forms following an injury or repetitive trauma. It may also help promote faster healing by increasing blood flow and reducing inflammation.
Trigger point therapy:
Trigger points are involuntary tight tender spots in a contracted muscle. This creates pain and discomfort within the muscle. This can cause decreased circulation, increased muscle contraction, spasm and increased nerve sensitivity causing a sharp pain or constant ache. They can also cause referred pain in other parts of the body. Trigger point therapy aims to address the problem by applying pressure to the trigger point for at least 10 seconds which then interrupts the pain-spasm cycle which stops the contraction, making the pain go away.
